I don't think I've ever felt as low being a Rochdale fan. The years of absolute shite is now getting on top of me.
We are where we are on merit and it's down to years of mismanagement at the very top of the club and that doesn't look like changing any time soon and things will get worse. I don't even think things will get better because I only see this going one way.
I'm jealous of Oldham fans at the moment and that's not something I've said for a long time. We have no right to take the piss out of Bury either anymore.
Fans shouldn't be having to sell prized possessions like a f**king jumble sale in the bar before games when we don't get any information about how serious the situation is. Fans shouldn't be having to fund the transfer budget. Fans shouldn't be being blamed for takeover deals (to chancers and charlatans) falling through.
Today, after a 4th defeat on the bounce, really did make me ask myself what is the f**king point? 100 plus years of being an unsuccessful but well managed football league club all being thrown down the toilet.
Getting relegated hurt, and that day at Stockport was devastating, but this is the lowest we've been as a club and I see no plans to even try and reverse our fortunes. |

It is only going to get worse as you say and I fully expect the club to go into administration before the season is out or in the summer before next season begins. With the current board there is no future it’s as simple as that for me. They have zero chance of fans paying more for season tickets for next season when they can’t even guarantee there will be a club to watch. Today was the point of no return for me personally. I decided I won’t be attending anymore games this season despite having a season ticket. I’m also not willing to spend another penny at the club until the current board has gone. If the club doesn’t survive it will be down to the current board not having a clue what they are doing. |  |

It's about much more than the on-field displays although I do think it's linked.
I can put up with being a conference side if you tell me we'll have a club for the next 10 years
The club has been mismanaged for years off the field and it's all led to us being where we are now.
The actual football is pretty much secondary to how the club is being run. |
We are 10 points off a playoff place and 6 points off relegation. we have the 2nd worst form in the division over the last 5 games and are on a dire losing streak. Our home for is as bad as it has been over the previous 6 seasons. in which we haven't won more than 8 times in 23 attempts. Any initiative to bring fans through the doors is being completely destroyed by the football on the pitch.
The Chairman needs to read the riot act to everyone at Platt Lane on Monday morning, 9 O'clock sharp, no excuses. Sometimes, there have to be home truths, this is one of them . with 14 games left we need to be targeting 2 points per game and 6 more home wins. Anything less and McNulty and the rest can look for new jobs. Its sh*t or bust time. |  | | |

In agreement with Chaff. It was a struggle to even bother turning up today. Some hopeful moments in the first half when attacking, entertaining football made a rare recent appearance.
Then the usual drudge took over. The tactical naivety was scary. In poor conditions, we defended, as ever, with every man back, when the option of leaving Hayes or Sinclair (or both) up top to take advantage of a long clearance was never used. If you are looking at yourself tonight, Jim....
Think it was after the AGM that one of the directors expressed unhappiness with the pitch. His comments were very apt today, it was awful. Didn't Roger trumpet about how they'd got a deal whereby if the pitch was failing in a manner such as today, the company who laid it would come back and fix it? Or was that just the usual Roger self-aggrandizing BS to cover the deal he made? We'll see.
Crowd a bit lower, but given recent performances, it is no surprise. And, we're more than likely to be asked to pay more to have our Saturday's ruined next season. The old loyalty v blind loyalty question raises its head. On the gambling adverts, they say "when the fun stops, stop". The fun bit is the socialising with people who watch Dale, not the football. I think that’s the disappointing thing for me today. In the first half we showed we’re capable of getting a result, and we were unlucky not to be leading at HT. Uche and Hayes were driving forward at will. There was plenty of nice passing, but it was done with intent rather than arbitrarily. I actually thoroughly enjoyed that first half! How we came out in the second half looking like a different side I don’t get. |  | | |

The problem with the team is clearly McNulty, I feel the squad is far better then most in the division, but team selection and tactics are going back to the days of BBM, who seem to regard developing the squad and playing the certain style of football is more important then winning games. I like McNulty, but I have lost faith in him to take the club forward, but will he change, 'No', he lacks the ability to change.
After many decades of supporting the Dale, I am finding it hard to motivate myself to attend games and it as come to the stage, I am starting to think of or looking to find excuses not attending midweek games, it is getting that depressing. The club is reminding me of the state of affairs impacting the club in the 1980's and I would say our present decline is down to the appointment of Bottomley. [Post edited 18 Feb 8:58]

We are on for a right hiding next Saturday if we play those tactics and allow Chesterfield’s front three to press us. Chesterfield are not going to sit back and let us play some nice arranged formation passing triangles into their half, they will be on us from the start.
Bromley have the third worst possession stat in the league over the season, but sit 2nd and beat Chesterfield 4-3 yesterday. It shows you can play in different ways to try and win games and we have never embraced that fully.
Both of us have a game on Tuesday (albeit I am not convinced having seen the deep end at the Pearl Street form yesterday, our game will be on).
The other issue is a number of these players only have 9 playing weeks left on their contracts and they’ve played like it. Only McNulty plus a number are contracted for 2025.
It was 50 points last year to be safe so hopefully 3 wins at home against some of the smaller teams can be achieved relatively quickly. |  |

That's exactly where I am too, at Altrincham last week I actually sat there with my lad and thought initially "what the fook am I even doing here" and secondly "imagine being that shit that even Altrincham are streets ahead of us and now laughing at us"... I used to look around at clubs like Scunthorpe and think how on earth are they just being allowed to drop through the leagues, well here we are its now our turn folks. |

For the first time I can remember I could’ve gone yesterday, but decided against it.
The football is turgid and boring, but for me, it’s more about the way the club is being run by people who have no clue on how to run a football club. From the Chairman down, apathy runs throughout the place and I (and many others) have had enough and I won’t be stepping foot into the ground until they’ve gone.
I’ve moved away from the town now and have other things to do with my weekends, which are enjoyable - and going to watch Dale isn’t enjoyable.
I would also like to say to the staff still at the club that are being treated awfully, they all deserve much better than what they’ve got at the moment. | |

Like many others I no longer live in Rochdale and have been travelling to games from Yorkshire for over 35 years.
Yesterday was so frustrating in many ways. The football was not enjoyable to watch and it was compounded by awful journeys to and from the game.
We clearly have the ability but for some reason we play a style of football that is not working. Opposing teams have easily worked us out and must look forward to playing us.
It needs to change quickly. Jim has been given a lot of leeway for the circumstances in which he has to manage but his credits have virtually run out.

I do not know whether Simon Gauge discusses matters with BJ, but the latter has been very diplomatic regarding the difficulties facing the club and how it affects performance on the pitch. Indeed it probably affects the manager to an even greater extent.
It wont be an easy task to motivate the players many of whom will not be at Rochdale in the immediate future. A siege mentality will be required until the end of the season.

Besides I have made the worst decision of the year so far to pay for 4 nights at Norton Grange between Saturday and Wednesday so I got to see both games. Tuesday night games are usually a challenge for me. But I have spent £400+ this weekend to watch us play like we do. It would be far cheaper to follow a Premiership club | | | |

The corporate governance of the club is materially deficient, would not pass even the most cursory internal audits.
As I said at the start of the season there is no leadership at the club, no single or stated purpose, no defined, communicated and measurable strategies and I am mystified about our values considering other posts that seem to hint of a bullying culture.

Back to the game, and Solihull looked every inch a playoff chasing team to be fair.
Bigger, faster, a good team.
But they’ve been building the basis of that team for a few years though, even surviving the loss of James Ball.
How they didn’t score in that five minute period before halftime Lord only knows.
Dale had a bit of luck, did some good last ditch defending and Brooks made some good saves.
It would have to be Campbell who got the winning goal as well.
Hayes was excellent and scared them every time he got the ball and I have to say that Jes put in some nice low crosses.
But we still seem incapable of winning “second balls” and if Clayton is fit enough to be on the bench then why can’t he start to give us some bite in midfield? East and Gilmour seem to be constantly getting the ball facing their own goal.
BJ did ok with his subs but Sinclair is becoming a bit of a onetrick pony though; cut inside and run across opponents and try and get a shot in. Teams have sussed that out now.
I’m also slightly worried that Jim is lapsing into BBM mode at times. It must have seemed a good idea on the training ground to have Cameron John making forward runs like an attacker but his colleagues showed their frustration at times by throwing their arms in the air when they made runs across the line only for the ball to be moved sideways between EEL, Nevett and Brooks.
Dale are still too good to be in a relation scrap but desperately need a win tomorrow night because they won’t get anything at Chesterfield playing the tippy tappy stuff across the back four.
In fact it could be lambs to the slaughter. | | | |
