Mani Goal and Whatmuffs saves aside.. the highlights for me are numerous.
Dale outgunned and second best for 90 minutes we somehow hung on to BW coat tails and then it happened in slow motion 7 minutes into added time.. the cross.. the header... then the crowd erupted..
Project 5000 is alive and well.. if 50% of yesterdays attendees come back to Spotland next season we are in a good place..
I also loved seeing the Rochdale badge alongside PROMOTED under the Wembley arch.
The Wembley staff deserve a mention.. Can the chief of stewarding come and give our lot a masterclass in how to treat fans?.
There is analysis required on what is required now to push on, this will involve the recruitment of better players ideally with pedigree and EFL experience. Its for another day though.. for now 24 hours on just savour this moment.

There were always doubts. There are about any manager.
What was required was the club staying calm when things got a little bit sticky, realising teams will always lose football matches. The Ogdens did this in the second half of last season and could see the bigger picture required some patience. As it would have if we’d lost yesterday.
Emotions and mood can swing on moments. That last minute cross against Spennymoor? Defend it properly and we are at Wembley to win a trophy. That last minute cross yesterday? Boreham Wood defend it properly and we are looking at another season in the NL. Life finds a way.
Your points about the group are spot on though. It’s great supporting the players and management team we have. In years to come we’ll look back and realise how lucky we are to have experienced all the games over the last couple of years.
Jim had a vision and delivered in year two of a three year plan. There has been an excellent synergy between the owners, staff, players and supporters who have all played their part. Long may it continue and with the same core with a handful of quality additions we can mount a real challenge next season. I wonder if City have any other youngsters who would benefit from expose to men's football?
The academy coming back, and in the not to distant future, training at the club's own facility within the borough will be excellent for the town and the club. Let's get the pipeline turned back on.

Although I didn't want us to get relegated and definitely wanted promotion after such a season, I must admit I am going to miss the National League because of the different places to go to and I rather like non-league football, being at the top of the pyramid. I realise that puts me in a small minority. On the one hand there was nothing like the celebrations after the win yet perversely seeing all those familiar names in League 2 does not really fill me with that much excitement. It's good to be back but it is back to normality in a way when the dust settles. I am not sure I am making sense.
However, the bigger picture is that is much better for the club to be in the EFL to build on the momentum built by the team and the Ogdens and groups like Dale 1907. The connection between the manager, team and fans is unprecedented in my lifetime. I do feel that despite the extraordinary points tally there is quite a bit of work to take the team to the next level. The last bit of the season has shown limitations which our amazing will to win and scoring late goals has covered over to a certain extent. Hopefully Jim can sort this out over the summer.
Anyway it's still time to enjoy the moment and be positive about the future, so I think it is worth reposting this, which seems even more apposite at the moment:

Tyler Smith goal was fantastic finish.
Bit late in mentioning but if you compare his one chance, v Ayinde 2 chances, Jim 2.0 struck gold again.
Smith is very much like Alfie as in if he doesn't score you dont see much else. Apart from his goal on Sunday I don't remember him touching the ball many other times. He's scored some very important goals this season however and Sunday's will go down in Dale history.

Will miss the DAZN coverage of our games for £100 a season saw plenty of games midweek ..pity theres no equivalent for the League 2 games..

Cameron Ogden was on the pitch at Wembley in front of the Dale fans with Simon Gauge, both of them deservedly parading the Trophy. Simon looks ten years younger and no bloody wonder😀

I've heard it was Beckwith,Francis,Perry,Whatmuff, Smith. No one would have chosen those 5. 2 of them never scored a goal for us and 1 of them a keeper. Just shows you penalty shootouts are a lottery at the end of the day. Anyone can score and anyone can miss - it was our lucky day on Sunday.

Hendo isn't great on penalties. The success in the penalty shoot out didn't just happen by chance neither, Jim did say that they had practiced them. A lot of credit needs to go to Beckwith, Francis and Perry. To volunteer yourself, make the long walk up to the penalty spot at Wembley in front of the opposition fans and perfectly execute what you've practiced takes a lot of skill and bottle. You don't get bigger pressure than that in football and they were all brilliant. There's been no weak links, all the squad have contributed throughout the season.
