With all the comings and goings and excitement at San Spotty,is anyone getting remotely interested in what is just about to start over the pond?
I think, looking at the England squad we have a really good chance.....there is a depth of talent without doubt.
Must say though I am not getting the purple haze about the competition and prefer to follow what's going on locally.
Just hope Haiti do well.

Ah right, just McNulty got a mention when taking about the Scotland manager. Suppose he did play for them at youth level.
Anyway, Ian Wright made some good points when comparing where Norway are presently to Scotland. For some reason, they fail to produce the genuine world class players anymore. Why? That’s the big question.

Something else about this World Cup, i think the officiating has been excellent in general, a real breath of fresh air. Games allowed to flow and referees using loads of commensense. Another thing that is becoming apparent to me and some might find this controversial, i think female referees in general are better than their male colleagues. There also seems to have been less issues with VAR, albeit I haven’t seen a lot of games.
Although the ref got that penalty decision wrong in thr England game the other night, VAR kept out of it and it was just left up for debate. Hopefully lessons can be learnt for where it’s used in league games. | |

I do think that players' attitudes towards the female officials - both at Dale's level and higher - is much better than what they show to males. | |

Agree, with a couple of caveats
It may be that female refs don't manage games better than males (on average), rather that males are less likely to respond negatively to decisions made by female refs in case they look to be "overbearing" towards them
Also, due to the numbers involved (no scientific evidence here) those females making it to the top may just be higher quality than some of their more numerous male colleagues

Agree and your first point is one that TVOS also made. To make it to the top as a female referee in the mens game you've not only got to be elite but i would imagine you've also got to be a very tough cookie. The ones i've watched in the National League and EFL have all been pretty impressive. I'm not sure how many females are involved at that level though. | | | |

I read 10 Moroccan born and 16 born between France, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium and Canada.

The head -to- head result being the first deciding factor for teams on the same points also made a number of final games redundant. As playing for a better goal difference became irrelevant. Another stupid rule change. |  |
