Except... top half, far from the finished product, we can get better, 3 wins on the trot, we have a style, Watson is our man, players coming back into contention, fans flocking to the COA, delighted for Hayes
Amidst everything else Ramming made a crucial save midway through the first half when they broke away. Looked far better after the subs so credit IW for that. Not quite sure from 100 yards how Brown missed that one! Tasker was outstanding.

A deserved result in the end, even if it did look like it was heading for a stalemate until Watson’s impressive subs (I always admire a manager who isn’t afraid to sub off a sub).
Middleton is such an asset, but he’s most effective when we play at pace and he has runners to find with his excellent crossing. It’s no surprise the game changed with Hayes’ introduction. A note on him - he’s such an exciting player to watch, all trickery, pace, and attacking intent. He clearly loves it here too.
The back four really impressed as well, with Tasker and Flint both excellent.

Okay, that's quite a few...

Terrific atmosphere today despite not being the greatest game. Swindon were extremely limited but probably had the better chances until the game became stretched in the final 20 minutes and we were able to get Middleton involved more. And what a horrible sight for a tiring defence it must be to see Hayes introduced. Thought their lad was a little unlucky to walk as his initial yellow was for a pretty innocuous clash with Sherring. Solid win and so far I've seen nothing in this division to frighten us and we can hold our own.

Not the easiest watch at times…
Stuck with the plan and it eventually paid off with a good piece of improvisation by Hayes
Flint again outstanding
Thought Brown despite his miss worked tirelessly at front and at back throughout the game.
Gilmour seems to be coming to terms with the physicality in this league.
Swindon keeper kept the score down although a 3 or 4 nil win would have flattered us.
.
It seems that Wilson has found his sea legs in this division, he is looking better every game and Tasker has set a standard that will be hard to beat. Its all beginning to gel nicely, and the pattern is becoming clearer. If Watson can get a tune out of Mani, given the amount of balls that are being pumped into the box from our multitude of wingers, we would be a difficult side to have to contend with.

Tasker is a real player. Looked even better at left back with the ability to cut inside. Agree on Wilson too, there’s a player there. Word for Sherring who had his best game in a Dale shirt at right back.
What continues to stand out is the standard of football so far this season. Teams struggle to retain possession so often. There’s little to fear at this level.
Tasker was immense, deserved MoM imo. Sherring had his best game at right back, miles better than he's had at CB. Middleton was great down the left and will be a nightmare for defenders when we can get Hayes starting opposite.
To be fair we're starting to look like a team now even with several still out, it'll be hard for them to get back in at this rate. The signing of Flint can't have gone any better, he's turned our defensive and organisation round massively.

Wonderful 3 points. Somehow it feels better leaving it late. The difference Flint has made to this team is unbelievable really. He's a rock and such a leader on the pitch - at the moment he'd go down as one of our best ever signings of all time. Hopefully he can stay injury free because he's looking almost irreplaceable. Fair play to Watson making such an attacking substitution bringing on Hayes and Mani D for an underwhelming Hannant and Francis. The attacking intent we showed in that last quarter of an hour must be what he wanted from the start like last week. Hayes was back to his best - like his last spell with us he is just so attack minded and gives defenders nightmares. The league table is looking superb compared to how we started the season. Hill was on GMR today summarising our game and he was gushing about the signing of Aden Flint for us.
Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10
Got the job done. Wasn’t great and a very stop start game. Swindon chipping away at us and came for a smash and grab. At 60 minutes it was looking like they would do exactly that. And then the Brown miss made me think it was our turn to suffer after lauding it up against Fondop/Oldham.
But… they dug deep. Kept going and the substitutions were the obvious thing to do and it paid off. Cian Hayes is a menace. Not everything he does comes off but he has the heart of a lion and I love watching him.
Credit to all the young lads too. Wilson, Tasker and Ramming all solid enough. Sherring’s distribution was ropey at times but his positional play was miles better.
Flint is flint and we need to offer him a deal now before somebody like Salford come steaming in to weaken us.
Still lots to improve on but results allow you the time to do that. I enjoyed Watsons post match interview too. He witnessed the same game as us so that’s refreshing.
The players are playing with some passion, the fans are turning up, the away end actually has some fans in it week in week out and it just feels good to be back and respected for being Rochdale and hopefully a tough place to come.
One game at a time but just keep putting some points on the board and enjoy the ride.
Pitch is class too. Credit to the contractors, groundsman and the club for the investment. It’s took a hammering with Rugby our games and the ladies and it’s flawless.

Great result. Cagey first 70 mins cancelling each other out.
Pleased for Harvey Gilmour today ,looks to be coming to term with the physicality of league 2. Swindon where all over him and Adeeko until Francis was subbed off and the midfield dropped a bit deeper.
Thought Swindon played well but we defended better.
Lots of positives and we can be so much better.

Not sure what their gaffer is talking about as deluded as he is that Hayes goal was a fluke and it just 'hit him on the head' he's clearly read the ball towards goal and directed it in, dont mind a bit of Flint giving it them either after getting stick. Ball is still a massive vvanker 👍

Flint was giving their keeper some stick about his weight immediately before Middleton’s first half free kick. Totally mischievous but who’s going to argue with him?

Also noticed Flint and Ball exchanging a few words, second half
Doubt very much if Watson will mind one of his players able to give it out

Ripley was enjoying having a laugh with him before that free kick. Similarly, the keeper was good value with his interactions with the Sandy and the stick Ball was getting. Proper pro, who put in a great display.
