Truro are on a decent set of results at the present.

Let’s hope the new pitch brings us good fortune.

3 other games off so far for waterlogged pitches.

Aldershot - Carlisle
Gateshead - Wealdstone
Woking - Yeovil

Wonder if Truro will be travelling on the day.

Long way of course for them and their fans to sit in a 3’200 seater stand.

They are notably stronger at home than away but no chickens counted on any of the remaining 22 games.

Some of their results against our rivals.

York 4 Truro 0
Southend 4 Truro 0 (fa cup)
Solihull 4 Truro 0
Scunthorpe 4 Truro 0
Carlisle 3 Truro 0

They did lose 2-1 at Borehamwood and poor Forest Green drew 1-1 - that must've had the best manager of the best team spewing!

Not sure Solihull are a rival, per se.

Southend was in the FA Trophy.

I'm not a maestro, far from it, but I just engage my brain before posting.

I'm hoping Dale throws the kitchen sink at them and plays to our strengths with confidence—no need to be tentative; show why we are near the top and up there for auto promotion.

We also need to start with our strongest team and get the game won. The players can't be tired compared to the rest of the teams in the league, we've played less games. Only two league games played in the last three and a half weeks, they've had a good rest. There's been plenty of rotation during games anyway with full use of the substitutes and that can happen again today. We've seen what happens when we make wholesale changes to a winning team.

The Brackley game isn't going to go away and that debacle is becoming even more significant as this season progresses..and it was a debacle no matter how some try to play the insignificance of what happened on that day down. We've been brilliant away from home but that day still lingers in the background like a bad smell and it's something McNulty needs to remember when he's making wholesale changes for the sake of it. The players had just put in their best performance of the season against Gateshead and all of them were replaced for the next game. A ridiculous piece of management that has cost us big time.

We have a tough five weeks, just start your strongest starting eleven, the Truro fixture is just as important as the rest and we aren't good enough to rest our best players and still expect to win games, we saw that against Tamworth last week in the FA Trophy. If we dont win today the psychological damage going into the tough run of fixtures will be massive, that's why we need to start strong and secure the points. To win this league we're going to have to be ruthless and that has to start with the manager. These are grown men, professional footballers, if they're winning they wont feel tired.

Alongside the two promotion winning teams, this is the most ruthlessly win-obsessed squad I’ve seen at Dale. The mentality is relentless, as discussed on the podcast.

What impresses the most is their commitment to calmness across the pitch. They play their game at all times.

Would hope Henderson starts today ahead of Duku if Dieseruvwe isn’t fit. Sure there’s a planned structure for the upcoming games though, so there might be others. Some of it may depend on how other teams play, I don’t know enough about Truro so not sure.

The Brackley game was a example of when we weren't ruthless against a perceived weaker team though, we didn't play our strongest team. That's what i mean about the manager being ruthless.

The justified frustration around that game was responded to with the 16 wins since. That positive focus has been the most impressive part of this season for me - the recognition that any sign of a negative outlook will affect us.

It’s played out too, as every time we have a setback, negativity doesn’t linger and impact the overall goal to succeed. It can’t be allowed to.

We tend to make a lot of change quite early especially in fatigue positions such as wing back and wide forward. How many times have the likes of Rodney played a full 90 minutes? We have hardly played recently and have a Saturday off next week.

Play your better players and then if we have a comfortable position they can be taken off. We have plenty of players to manage minutes without having to resort to a Brackley away. Every point could be crucial.

I'm really looking forward to the game today. Hopefully we can put on a show.

In the back of my mind I have the thought that Jim’s selections may manifest themselves by way of players not travelling for away games featuring prominently in the next home game. Now.there may be injuries at play here, but if I’m correct that would see Burger and Barlow being involved. So que an unchanged team!

Lovely day for it and the pitch looks great.

Truro unbeaten in 4 league games.. Take one game at a time.

Agree with comments lets get the tempo right from the off and become absolutely ruthless in front of goal..

Other games of note..

Altrincham v Boreham Wood
Boston v Southend
York v Braintree
Scunthorpe v Forest Green.

I think its time we forget about the Brackley game (at least until we lose out on promotion by 1 point!)There were reasons why Jim did what he did - it wasn't just a random brainfart - and had Whatmuff not been ill we still probably would've won that game because Myles cost us both goals.Yes he shouldn't have made 11 changes but the reaction since is our best run of form in our history. We've lost 1 game at York since (no disgrace) and drawn 0-0 at Sutton where a Gordon goal was wrongly given offside. We've won 10 away games since Brackley and won our last 5 away games. We've also won at Carlisle and Forest Green. You could even argue that last Wednesday's bit of luck in the 94th min gets back 2 of the 3 lost points at Brackley. He will play our strongest available starting X1 today - I have no doubts about that as we've only 2 games this week and next weekend off.

I'm not expecting to see a Brackley away scenario to ever happen again. It backfired spectaculary...we've already won eleven away games this season, the facts speak for themselves. As you rightly point out, players don't need resting, there's a full week without a game after Tuesdays fixture. Injuries can happen at any time and so can suspensions and illness. The team will rotate naturally as games progress withoit giving your opponents a leg up by changing for the sake of it.

We've been discussing East this morning, he's in great form at the moment and needs to be left alone, rather than playing him in a position that is foreign to him in order to accomodate Petit. There's a reason McNulty plays East in preference to Petit in midfield and that should be respected because he works with both players day in day out and it works.

Gordon's goal was disallowed at Woking. We haven't played at Sutton yet.

Having said that, it was so early in the game that there's no saying how the next 80+ minutes would have panned out. We might have won, lost or still drawn. It's pure speculation.

You're right about the Brackley game, though. However, if we miss out on promotion by one point to, say, York, then our results against them will have been of more importance.

There's also no guarantee our "first team" would have beaten Brackley. They should have done and probably would have done, but 'should' doesn't win points.

Edit: And for balance, Henderson was offside when he scored at Morecambe (I've seen an alternative angle) and I think we got away with another when Gilmour scored v Aldershot. Swings and roundabouts.

No EEL - Hogan deputising.
Mani D and East on the bench along with Rodney.
Pettit starts in midfield.

No height up front. I really don’t see what Tyler Smith offers. Surely you start Rodney with Hendo if Mani D not ready to start and Mani D 2 not available?
