I feel the club is in free fall now. Who ever they appoint as manager will be stuck with some of the worst footballers I have ever seen. The board should of sacked stockdale last Christmas. Everyone could see it was failing. They backed him over the summer ands spent a lot on a lot of sub par players. Then they sacked him after 4 games. If I made such a mess at work there would be questions I would have to answer. I think the lack of action of the board will see us in the national league. I think the board should look hard at themselves tonight.

I just think we're talking about different boards.
If the current board had more time to deal with football rather than fighting off a hostile takeover, personal legal action, financial losses & mismanagement, rebuild a football club commercially from top to bottom, a transfer embargo, snakes within the club, resigning manager after secret extension just before a season, executive payrises, social media abuse etc etc etc than I think it may be a different situation.
The team at the minute isn't good, and the board I'm sure will be reflecting on what could be done differently, but be under no illusion we are where we are because of years of nest feathering, managed relegation, mismanagement and general shithousery of the worst kind.
You reap what you sow. Unfortunately we are reaping the crops of bobbins farmers who were ploughing our land previously.

Fat Pat spat her morning cuppa out this morning when she read your post HullDale.
Credit to you, but you are far too polite.
Just over one year on from 2021, what we know went on at this club was a carefully staged and cleverly manipulated situation aimed at extracting significant financial value from the club for, as various authorities say, "personas non grata"
The attempted selling of a blind, unwanted and subsequently "hostile takeover" (credit Alexander Jarvis/Daily Telegraph) to shareholders in June 2021 was the final attempt to put the club in the ground for good and leave it in a similar state to other type clubs we have seen over the years that were pillaged for the good of others and for the financial benefit of a small number of controllers.
That process appears to have started in 2018, just after Russ Green left the club. I believe the term is "coup d'etat"
And that state or world and in another guise is called corporate abuse, cost loading, debt loading and the aim is to bring insolvency and abandon a club that is left to die.
2018/19 - got worse 2019/20 - got worse and had Covid 2020/21 - planned sale took place.
Roger even took to Youtube to brag about the need to follow "the law of the land"
Fat Pat is selling on Saturday some "I was here, when we were shit." T-Shirts not last seen since the 2009/10 season and all proceeds will go to the Trust's legal fund.
The two glimmers of hope.
First, its August.
Second, thanks to the efforts of thousands the fans of Rochdale have saved the club and those "personas" are gutted they would have got away with it, if it wasn't for Fat Pat and us pesky kids.
George Bernard Shaw had it right:

...and this is why as fans and proper 'lifelong' loyal Dale fans we can't let our current predicament on the pitch cloud our judgment towards our great football club. The clubs greatest victory is yet to come, i'm hoping it could be just around the corner but obviously that is out of our hands, all we can do is fully support our Chairman and Directors and hope that they can bring home the bacon. If that is achieved and the club is finally safe from harm then what is the worst case scenario?
There is always the chance we will end up in the National League ( hopefully not) but would that really stop any of the loyal 2000 plus fans from still attending games and buying season tickets to support THEIR own fan owned club? So a secure fan owned club carrying very little debt with a mortgage free stadium falls into the National League, it would be no time to throw the baby out of the bath water, we would all just do what we've always done and crack on with our normal matchday routine, the routine that the previous regime tried to snatch away from us all.
Anyway, we are probably one win away from moving out of the bottom two, things always happen for a reason and they will work themselves out, let's all stay tight as a group because there are those that would love to see the fans and Boardroom turning on themselves,we wont let that happen though.
Relegation wont kill the club, i don't think anything will now to be honest. #keepthefaith

I don't know if Simon and his board colleagues ever come on here or not. One of my biggest fears at the moment is that they get fed up of the whole situation and walk away as they've had enough. Please don't. The vast majority know and appreciate what you're doing for this club.

I think you've seen what gritty fighters this board is.
The football side of things is that we're playing in a competition that has the possibility of relegation as a result of final standings. I think we've time to get that right.
The off-field stuff appears to be coming to a head, I guess once we hear from the EFL we'll know better the direction we are headed.
We have a cracking board in place and they're all fans.
I have to agree, the board as been good for the club, in that we have (hopefully) seen off the shysters and financially we in a decent place, with the loan on the ground paid off by the club, for example.
I suspect, like many other Dale fans suspect that some people want to create division between the board and the fans for their own potential reasons.
So we must support and the maintain the present board, they may have made a mistake in not sacking Stockdale in hindsight last season, but hindsight is great after the event. But overall they have done a good job steering us the trouble waters created by Bottomley and the previous board. So hopefully they will appoint a new manager within the next few days and hopefully turn the season around and maintain our league status.

The Board has done brilliantly during these exceptional times in Dale's history.
-Getting its finances in order. -Promoting footballing in the community -Backing the Ex-Manager and giving him every chance to build a team this year. -Decisive decisions removing the Manager who underperformed. -A fan/ family first perspective. -Creative in ideas on how to bring in more money. -Using their collective business experience to improve the business model -Standing up to groups who want to put Dale in Debt, to make them richer. -Creating a tighter bond between fans and club -Great Engagement -Frequent fans forums -Improving the clubs social facilities. etc etc.
