This time last year a decision was made to dig up the pitch and lay a new one it seemed at the time a bold move but a proactive one. Today its becoming apparent the pitch is a write off or is it? no communication from the club leads to speculation. Ive only seen the pics you have seen it close up so is it worse than last year? is it worse than it looks or better than it seems? will it be played on again? [Post edited 22 Jan 2018 20:01]

I know this is going spark all kinds of haters but it just looks like common sense,
Install an Artificial grass pitch that is rugby compliment.
Number of reasons why it would work:
1 - No games called off
2 - Hornets would not ruin it
3 - Finally club would have somewhere to train
3 - Cheaper than getting two new pitches each season
4 - Generate income for the club to other sports teams when not in use
It maybe a none starter due to EFL rules and yes I know its not true grass but it would solve a number of problem that's been going on for the last 30 years | | | |

On the subject of artifical pitches its a non-starter at the moment but i see both Sutton and Bromley are currently in and around the play offs in the National League. Be interested to see what the EFL do should one of these win promotion. I assume they wont allow them in unless they agree to rip up their 4g and stick grass down. | | | |
