I thought both were offside. The first clearly and the second just. Don't be fooled by the camera angle from the gantry. The lino was looking down the line and made the correct call. Indeed, he gave a third offside which Nardi saved. Clearly something for the Norwich forwards to work on.
The penalty call, on the other hand, was a tad fortunate. Whilst it wasn't intentional Ashby's arm was out in a unnatural position. One for the "I've seen them given" tray. We had a stronger call for a penalty waved away at Watford so perhaps it does even itself out after all. [Post edited 7 Dec 17:48]

Amazing!
No Chair, JCS, Colback, Frey, Dembele. Yet Marti has knit together a group which has conceded ONE goal in 4 against some tough opposition. A far cry from the grossly apathetic showing against Derby.

What a fantastic day! My six year old was nearly frozen solid by the end but we stayed on to cheer the players off. Coming out of the ground and walking down Loftus Road it was like we'd just won a cup final. These moments are few and far between but they're what makes supporting our team special. It was so good to see the team play with purpose and conviction.
Well done to Kolli for two well taken goals and an all-round good performance. He brought some much needed energy to our frontline.

I quite like Ashby, think he's really growing into the team. He's not a natural left back but he applies himself well, his reading of the game is really improving and I think he makes intelligent runs. Very good option, miles ahead of poor Hervertton | |

On reflection, this afternoon's match was absolutely brilliant. In context, missing First Team regulars, team in the division's basement, changes forced through injury, young / inexperienced players, hurricane conditions, up against one of the division's most free-scoring sides, last home win was announced on Ceefax ... we could go on.
To pull that performance out of the bag was something else. We were first to everything, pressed quicker and higher, just seemed to want it more. Every single one of them. This lot played like fans today. And that's all we ever wanted. |  |

A brilliant day out, wonderful result with half a first team missing through injury and suspension. Thought Celar had an impact injury rather than a hamstring but could be wrong.
Norwich though, what an absolute rabble... terrible attitude, responded horribly to going behind, Dunne rattled Sainz early on and he spent the whole game getting into spats all over the pitch (including with the linesman) rather than playing football. Also they were kicking off with each other, the young 35 Fisher got a good 90 seconds of grief from one of his centre backs just before half time. The captain was an absolute bellend and the keeper has been mentioned plenty in dispatches already. If I was a Norwich fan I'd be fuming at that display.
But well done us, we were superb, played some lovely football at times and were pretty solid defensively, swirling second half corners not withstanding. Morrison and Cook read the game brilliantly, and Dunne was a complete hero after the week he's had. That saving tackle at 1-0 arguably more important than the goal in terms of momentum in the game. Tremendous. Finding goals in this squad is tricky so to have Kolli come on and play like that is a huge boost. [Post edited 7 Dec 20:43]

When Kolli scored his second goal I thought Gunn was at fault in letting the ball go under his body. Having watched it several times now, although Gunn should have done better, I give much more credit to Kolli for striking early and going near post. In doing so it confounded Gunn into a half arsed attempt to save it. Great work, Rayan. |  | | |

What a win! Norwich looked lost for ideas with our high pressing which worked well again.
Happy for Kolli who took his chances well despite questionable keeping for the secondđŸ¤£ he looked sharp when he came on.
Midfield we was solid with Morgan and varane and won the midfield battle comfortably. Varne started off shaky trying a maradona in his own half that nearly cost us a goal but he was solid after that. Morgan worked tirelessly and again a good performance, lost the ball a couple times but his passing is brave and forwards. Not surprised to see the stats that he covered the most ground comfortably again, he is KEY to this high press. Only worry again was madsens lack of involvement. Just 18 touches all match and clear marti saw him ineffective again.
Defensively we was solid, Dunne having sainz in his pocket all match and cook and Morrison solid as ever. A massive win and have to take that into Wednesday and pick up 3 more points!

I think their fullbacks were terrified of Smyth's pace in particular which pinned them back and brought other players in to help out leaving more space for Kolli among others to exploit. He was fouled five times officially and probably should have got a couple more. They should have had at least one booking - four fouls against him from the rightback alone - but also a blatant kick off the ball not noticed by either of the officials nearby could have resulted in a red card but wasn't even given a yellow.

Very very fortunate that the elbow on Morgan wasn't spotted by any of the officials. Deliberate and an obvious red. Thought Norwich were more interested in moaning and putting in a lot of snidey little challenges than trying to play football, and they got everything they deserved.
FWIW, I've always felt this team will finish the season much more strongly than it started. Lots of filling gaps in the squad with foreign imports that would probably take time to settle. Hopefully next season will be more about adding quality in a few positions. I'm not sure we won't end up comfortably closer to the play offs than the drop zone. [Post edited 8 Dec 10:55]
