If nothing else (and assuming JM has his sights firmly set on progressing his career with Dale) its been an exercise in focusing on what our options are. At least, these days, the minds of those on the board are of a higher level than we've ever had, even if not in the business of football |

It all depends on the rest day pattern and availability of annual leave, in comparison to the fixtures. Of course that changes each season. I am ashamed to say I took the bait at your comment about someone calling for a statement perhaps in this instance that is wrong but there are times (can't think of one right now) that it would be appropriate. | |

This may seem a little churlish considering the elation i felt watching us at Wembley and a truly fantastic season all in all.
The season started fantastically as teams stood off us and we passed the ball around at will,playing some great possession based football which was very good on the eye.
Towards the later part of the season i felt we had been sussed out by the opposition regarding putting a very high press on us as a team and us not being able to cope with that in the main part .
The final two games against York and Borehamwood Wood looked close on scoreline but in reality we got outplayed hugely by both teams but grit ,determination and some luck pulled us through .
I suppose what i am saying is that the style of football that Jim played in the early and mid parts of the season was great to watch but i am not sure if that would work in the division above and i couldnt see a plan b.
I would of course like Jim to stay to see if he could adapt ,but if it isnt to be then a more practical but flexible style may be a better approach. |  |

There were also plenty of complaints about how we built from the back when playing our preferred way. The Yeovil home game stands out.
It’s been done to death about how the way we played was often frustrating to watch, but it was always a case of looking at the bigger picture when it was declared “boring” and a reason for fans maybe not attending games. Those noises will always be louder after defeats of course. It took months and years of work to perfect with supporters patience rewarded in the end. That and McNulty and his team continually looking at ways to adapt to get results. | |

You can forgive dull passing football so long as you win.
I’m not sure he’ll get nearly as many wins in L1 and I therefore wouldn’t be surprised if the Stockport fans start grumbling with the style of play fairly early.
The question will be whether he’s allowed time and whether he can do something with the time given.
I’ve said already I didn’t want him to go, and I’m also not convinced this is the right move for him either - but have to hope he does well and this doesn’t turn into a disaster for him. |  | | |

Those subs played a massive part for sure. It’s that we weren’t even attempting to play our “plan A” in retaining the ball at the back throughout. Nor had we against York, a game where many were impressed by how we prevented them from causing us problems. Difference was Boreham Wood were much better than York on the day and we were particularly poor in retaining possession in the opposition half.
It’s when people say we didn’t have a plan B when the plan A was hardly seen during the run in! | |
