As usual when tickets are free the system is fouled up. I am a season ticket holder and wish to go in the Main Stand where I usually sit or at least anywhere in the stand. Last time free tickets were available I couldn't get a ticket in the Main Stand although on the day you could see the Stand was more than half empty. Today, I can only get a ticket for the Sandy.
What on earth is going on??????

It is interesting seeing Bilongo playing centre back. He has looked okay and offers a bit of pace in the centre. Hannant has been working hard as has Gilmour. I think some others are going to have to up their pressing. For the goal it was a poor ball into midfield and Waller was beaten from a long way out. Francis has been sitting to allow Gilmour to push on more.
We have played some decent stuff but you can tell it is stress testing some players more than others both with and without the ball. [Post edited 25 Jul 15:59]

The trialist left winger is well worth another look. Direct with a long stride that gets him away from players. Edwards did well at RB in the second half too, would like to see him offered a deal and a decision made about the midfield numbers where 4 won’t fit into 2.
Much better overal display than against FCUM with the players visibly gaining a better understanding of the new formation and how they fit within in it. Rodney hit the post three times and looked a threat throughout and we should probably have won easily.
Defensively it looks like we will be taking risks with how we push on, a marked difference from the control we have retained for much of the last couple of seasons. Going forward we do look to find gaps quickly and exploit it, it’s a fine balance whilst still trying to retain possession.

Trialist B looked a threat unlike C who came on for Hayes. On another day we win 5-0 and it is happy days. Rodney should have had a hat trick and both of their goals were from bad errors. It was good to see the two youth teamers getting a run out.
Tuesday will be a step up in difficulty and it eill be interesting to see who starts and whether any of the missing players feature. [Post edited 25 Jul 17:54]

Very attacking formation. Beckwith at LB didn't convince me defensively though he & Bilonga made effective inside forward runs several times; ditto TAR defensively. Gilmour's more advance role was effective as was Francis in his sitting role. The high press was demanding but effective. EEL's lack of pace will be a problem although Bilonga is rapid. Not sure about the trade off but early days.
Agree about Edwards & the triallist left winger and that Rodney was our most dangerous player who could have had a hat trick. [Post edited 25 Jul 17:48]

The trailists i believe were Zaid Betteka, hes from Birmingham City. He played on right. the other was also i beleive is Zain Silcott Duberry (ex Bournemouth, Olympiakoas and sheff Wed). i thought Zain looked like a footballer, tall,athletic, long stride, bit gangly but looks promising, didnt see much of the ball mind but had one run that looked good. Zaid (if thats who it is) looked like NLN player to me, talented but not physically there. The other is the keeper from Wigan, who has been around all pre season.
Also with a bit of digging Ive found that young Bradley the yt is son of Danny Coid. And Israel is from Stockport, i believe. [Post edited 25 Jul 19:49]

Impossible to calculate as it's not theoretically measureable, like the toss of a coin or roll of a dice, unless we know it's 50-50 whether someone will attend or not.
What isn't impossible to calculate are the odds on getting a seat ticket several weeks after they were made available when they have all gone.
The fact a lot of people chose not to turn up is down to them, not the club or the system, which works perfectly well, as shown by you already getting your ticket for Tuesday. | |

Was reflecting on how open we looked today, especially with not playing two sitting in midfield and how both full backs were joining the attacks. That’s why it may take some time for it to get right and we may concede more until it’s fully bedded in.
It’s a tactically brave approach (as was pushing on both wide centre backs when we played three at the back), one which I enjoyed watching. The bit about people wanting all out attacking football was meaning those choosing how teams play, not necessarily Dale. It’s why friendlies are sometimes the best testing ground with little risk.
The approach reminded me of Newcastle under Keegan who would often leave one midfielder sitting with two centre halves. Admittedly it’s only one game, but found it really interesting. | |

As already posted twice, this is because they had all been 'sold' (even though they were free), but clearly a lot who had got them chose not to attend, for whatever reason.
This is similar to that AFC Fylde game on Boxing Day a few years ago when admission was £1. We sold over 7,000 tickets, but the attendance was around 4,000, I seem to recall.
So, yes, the system works perfectly well. It's not the fault of the system if people try to get a ticket after they have all gone. [Post edited 25 Jul 20:27]
