I know Keepers don't count against the 22 registered player squad size cap for League One and Two (in the same way under 21s don't) so I wonder if it means that. Just been explained in a sentence rather having a section for just him. [Post edited 11 Sep 15:31]

On Waller, it's just that you don't have to register Goalkeepers in EFL squads now so the maximum registered plays is 22. I presume the line is just there prevent people questioning the omission from the list. Under 21's also don't need to be so that covers the other two goalkeepers anyway. There a cut-off date of some time in Jan for birthdays on that but I don't know it exactly. [Source: Football Manager haha]
Deciding whether to register Jenkins to me makes me think they're slightly hopeful he can make the end of the season in some capacity, but may have to use the registration spots. [Post edited 11 Sep 15:32]

The back line has looked leaderless. EEL does have some leadership qualities but we need a strong older head with the younger defenders.

Goalkeepers Don’t
T have tio registered in the 22, the overs are under 21 anyway as rpthey don’t need to be registered. Jenkins probably won’t be registered ddue to long term injury, he can be registered in January if it looks like me will play before end of season. He will still be contracted this season , his wages are probably insured.
This happened with maguire last season he wasn’t registered from January due to injury [Post edited 11 Sep 16:42]

Have seen the odd reference to it on social media but no real discussion in length about Waller being given a go if only to give Ramming a break.
Waller had a really good spell for us the season before last, with many pointing to his injury costing us in the big games. Can’t see there being any reason not to give him a go. |  |

The first year of his two year deal will run this season whether he is registered or not. Goalkeeper are not counted as part of the maximum number of players team can register, so does not need to be listed. Not sure why Ramming has. |  | | |

Hopefully he’s someone who can help us get some ugly draws and create some sort of organisation at the back when we are under pressure.

I would assume it means Jenkins isn’t registered in the 22-man squad, and they’ll make a decision whether to include him in January depending on if he’ll be fit before the end of the season.
The summer and January ‘transfer’ windows are actually ‘registration’ windows. You can sign a player from another club at any time of the year, but they can’t be registered to play for you until those windows open.
In short, he’s being paid but he isn’t registered to play for us until January at the earliest. |  | | |

The last free agent centre half I can recall signing for us was Paul McShane and he turned out to be serviceable. Can't fault the pedigree but it's a real concern how much he has left in the tank at 37. Just read on his Wikipedia page that he trained and played in preseason games at Notts County so if he's not ready to go straight into the team he surely won't be far off. | | | |
