Oldham ban 2 supporters 12:25 - Dec 20 with 12086 viewsjudd

2 lifelong supporters have been issued with a 3 year ban by new General Manager from all home AND away games because of their opposition to the club owner.

Away games - how?

Poll: What is it to be then?

It's nothing to do with the Police at the moment and won't be unless they can prove a crime has been committed. It'll be impossible to enforce the away one.

The home games is interesting, if no specific breach of ST or ticket rules have been breached would that be legally enforceable?

One (or two) out, all out

Would any self-respecting Daley have turned up at COA had this happened under either Bottomley or his proposed takeover chums?

I’d imagine that they’ll claim that as a private entity they can ban/admit anyone they want but it seems like PR suicide to me. Surely it will only galvanise the fans & alienate any who have been on the fence up to now.

One of them is a trust director banned because of 'a desire to promote ... dislike of OAFC, its management and its progression':

Bit like banning Col, I would think.

Thank god for the efforts of the Dale Trust and a number of other supporters for their incredible work this year. Otherwise this could have been us!

Yes... There but for the grace of God etc.

Fairly sure I remember Bottom threatening banning orders for some "rebels" whilst who could ever forget Rawlinsons rant at supporters and telling them to f**k off and not come back.

We did so well to rid ourselves of these two.

Apparently one member of the Oldham Trust was banned for promoting a dislike of OAFC (in truth the owner, which they won't admit too) and they are banned from home and away games, but how can they ban fans from away games? It is not up the courts to do this for a criminal offence committed in the ground or related to football in general?

The question is, 'if the Oldham owner bans fans for promoting a dislike of OAFC, how does this affect Dale fans?'

It was a story relayed to me by a staff member that a planned protest would be photographed and those present banned from the ground. And then a protest occurred and nothing as such happened.

Banning Trust members is not a good look , using a new appointee to do it is even worse. I know we love to hate Oldham and them us, but they don't deserve to be treated like this.
I don't know where they go from here, unless Morton House have made Abdallah an offer and don't want anyone organising opposition to them this time, it seems a wrong move to refuse ticket money and to run the risk of losing sponsors and even more paying customers.
"its beginning to look a lot like Bury" ( apologies to RKershaw)

I hope not, it begs the question what is the objective of the OAFC owner, he is not building bridges with the fans, but his every action is making the situation worse. What I can understand, one of the directors have resigned today after the banning orders were announced, in that board was not consulted, but the decision was made by other people connected to OAFC.

How can we support the Biffo's when we play them on the 29th January?

June 2019: Oldham have a net deficit of £4.0m.

June 2020: Oldham have a net deficit of £3.0m

June 2021: Accounts need to be filed by March 2022 but that financial year has a pandemic in it.

From the outside looking in, it looks a very precarious state of affairs.

They are also in discussions with HMRC over a significant 6 figure amount.

I recall being told by a witness that at one of the many home games we watched on ifollow in our relegation season that an enterprising fan had somehow gained a vantage point on top of the Pearl Street turnstiles.

From his comfy seat Bottomley was overheard to instruct a steward to eject said fan and he would subsequently ban him from Spotland for life.

Can't remember the game, but the fan "got away" with it.

It does demonstrate the autocratic nature of him and that regime however.

Might be the same bloke who heard comments from a game on a nearby pitch like Charlton away…

He was too busy stuffing his face with free food and drink, before cupping his mouth when asked a question, asking a colleague for an answer, before speaking!

And his suit was very cheap!

If he went out on Bonfire Night, the kids would throw him on!
