1) Yes
2) We'll just have to, but as 442 suggests, it offers the chance to experiment with a different formation to add to our options during the rest of the season. We may even have a new forward to introduce to our system

He did get a look in. He was on the bench at 16 back in 2024 and was training with the first team. He wasn't old enough to offer a pro contract and our Academy was being disbanded so there's not a lot we could do. Interestingly Tony Ellis was mentioned on the Everton v Wolves commentary last night - seems he was influential in Mane going to Wolves where Ellis is now working. Young Mateus looks like a serious talent - just hope we get something for our efforts further down the line should he be sold for a lot of money. | |
