The 2023 Rugby World Cup Thread 22:00 - Aug 16 with 45438 viewsKeithHaynes

Our very own RWC thread.

Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England will join 16 other nations as they compete for the ultimate prize in rugby – the Webb Ellis Cup – which was last won by the Springboks in 2019. The opening match of Rugby World Cup 2023 will see hosts France face three-time winners New Zealand on Friday 8th September. The final will take place seven weeks later on Saturday 28th October.

I've never seen such a complete performance from a Welsh side. Totally dominated the second half.

He’s still to have a big say in this match I fear!

I never thought I'd say this, but well done Wayne Barnes - reffed this match brilliantly.

Sorry, but I don’t see Wales beating Australia. Jones will have targeted this game and they’ll have too much at the end. Won’t be that much in it but a losing BP is the best they’ll get imho. Hope I’m wrong.

See, I told you Wales would win. And handsomely

Wales have been magnificent.

Men against boys tonight ,very poor aussies but we made them so .In all facets we were dominant with very few penalties against winning all our line out and decision making with Anscombe superb

Correct decision, that one

Ohhhh. I might beg to differ. Penalty advantage is a big one unlike a knock on advantage. We could have gone back kick for touch and who knows? Anyway it's all conjecture. Great performance by Wales...totally dominant.

We’ll have to agree to disagree!

Penalty inside the 22 goes on till something happens. Not the same when in your own half and we made 55 meters.

Still, who cares 🤣

Absolutemente. Great performance and result. Anything else in this comp is a bonus. We now need to look to the future with this group of players. It's hell of a result though!!

Pivac said Jac Morgan was too small for international rugby.

Let's hope lightning doesn't strike for a third time when Gatland goes.

He’s going to be a legendary figure
Quiet captain but clearly a player to follow
Oz were as appalling as Argies
We are still a bit undercooked going on to the next stage

Small country too.
