True. But that puts Ipswich, currently one place above and level on points three points ahead. Of the six possible outcomes in tonight's relevant games four of them see us drop out of the top 6, and the two sides that need a win are both at home. | |

Sheffield United have won all four games since playing us, scoring 13 goals, conceding 2 and absolutely hammering Portsmouth and Stoke at home.
So maybe that 0-0 wasn't the insulting let-down and dereliction of duty I learnt of (only) here. And maybe that point could prove important, and when JS said it was good to keep the gap between us and Sheffield United maybe he meant not in the relegation spots, but something higher up.
Everything is still to play for this season. Top six will totally change by May, as will bottom three. Have to keep accumulating no matter how pretty or ugly. |
Well those damn Canaries held Sheffield United stopping their winning run.
The reason why people like me get annoyed about us is that we went to Sheffield United, Wednesday and Norwich, all in the bottom three at the time and failed to win. Contrast that with Bristol City who won 4-1 at Bramall Lane, 3-0 at Hillsborough and 1-0 at Carrow Road. And we damn well won at Bristol City! That is what frustrates me that when we face a lame duck we play like one. Having said that I accept that Brizzle played the Blades and Canaries when they had clueless managers so we were unfortunate to miss out on facing them.
But yes I would agree that Sheffield United will probably finish above us so the 0-0 at their place won't look so bad. |  | | |

I am thinking Sheffield United will be one of the clubs throwing money at it in January to get into the top 6 which could have a bearing on where they finish. There are clubs in this league with greater spending power than us that could transform their season. | | | |

Decent front line of Dave II, Diaz and Brewster should see them do well.
Cant see Agyemang staying long as looks a handful in this league + Diaz only loan. Gamble looks to have paid off though as coming up from L1 and signing a £5m striker is ballsy, probably sell on for double that. [Post edited 16 Dec 10:31]
