No takers yet ? I'd better have another go in the hope of alcohol duty being scrapped in the Budget.
A 1-1 draw I reckon.

Paul's third goal of the season -- two with his head. He is one of the smallest guys on the field and the best jumper too!!!

Jumpers for goals(posts) ?

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Crazy right division at the moment, 7 points between 3rd and 18th

Starting to think 56-57 points may be the safety mark this year. Really mad division this year. Apart from Coventry almost anyone could go up down to about 17th.

Never knowingly right.

I wouldn't want to watch Sam Field at left back every week though. Sure he comes in and does a job and you can never question his commitment but he's possibly our most limited player when in possession. Love the guy but he has his limitations

Well he’s stepped in again and done a very decent job to keep them out. Great cross for Smyth’s volley as well. Not sure what else you wanted him to do really.

Good win and we’re now looking up the table.

I thought Dembele played well first half, best I’ve seen from him. Chair was crucial again, lovely ball for Smyth. Our army of midget 10’s conquered Blackburn tonight!

Well done Rangers and safe travels to our travelling fans.

Wow! Watched a different game from you. Felt like he went 10 min spells without touching it. Madsen covered a lot more ground. And lots of people posting earlier how our midfield was about invisible. Would have had Varane down as the 2nd worst performance behind Burrell who looked well off it today.

You thought Madsen was poor as well, so we managed to win away with no centre midfield. Bizarre.
Can't wait to see what happens when Madsen and Varane do turn up.

Well done lads, all the stalwarts like Cook, Field, Chair, Smyth get written off and look who are standing up to be counted up North midweek.....

Fair play Stephan, got it right tonight.

So much depends on keeping a clean sheet, and they did great tonight.

Burrell up top every time for me. Not sure what the deal with Kone is, hasn't scored for a while. Makes the team selection easier though, hopefully JS realises this and keeps Chair as the no. 10 and rotates Kone and Burrell in attack.

Its looking a more settled team, especially with Mbengue at RB, which makes a lot of sense.

I think Kone might be the slowest footballer I’ve ever seen.

Really not sure about Kone . he looks overweight and not very fit . I was really excited when he came and I know he has been playing in a withdrawn role but as been mentioned he is so slow and has a heavy touch IMO . Gave the ball away for Hulls first goal and tonight we are trying to see the game out and he gives the ball away two or three times .
Hopefully he is adjusting to this level and we see more of the striker we thought we had after Charlton in time ..

Yeah odd take, I came away from that thinking our midfield was pretty dominant.

Rarely is Madsen less than a 6 these days. Thought he was good.

I don't really care who played well or badly in whichever half.

We won.

The team, lacking quality at times, worked very hard and battled for that win.

Great to see Dembele congratulating Smythe after the game with a big smile on his face.

Lovely, more please Rangers.

Noticed Mbengue has reliable instincts today always goes outside in defense uses pace in attack, better to shoot than launch a counter.

Not claiming he's a deep thinker, or even a shallow one but his instincts seem on the money.

Good performance from Mbengue tonight, some great runs and defensively strong.

Didn’t say Madsen was poor just that he couldn’t quite complete those killer balls when it was on. Credited his work rate too. But you go building straw men.

I didn’t think the centre midfield was good overall though? Mainly due to Varane. We had a pass completion rate of 67% and only made 7 tackles all game. Felt like the ball spent a lot of time going over our midfield to be fair to them, but don’t think we ever got proper control, not after the first 15 mins.

Our attacking threat came from wide areas mainly fed by the back 4.

And we had less possession. None of the facts scream a central midfield doing a great job. What I saw with my eyes was aligned to that.

I thought it was the back 4 who stood up strong (and Nardi).

Smyth really is our super sub, but I hope he starts on Saturday. He's earned that tonight.

There's been some criticism of the number of changes Stephan makes, but I think we'll see a few this Saturday - perhaps JCS, RND, Hayden and Smyth all in. Maybe even Kone to start and Burrell benched.

He did a job. He's a solid pro. But RND is a better full back than him so I'd rather watch the team play with him in it. Field is a better CDM than RND but how we're trying to play at the moment, there's not really a starting place for him in the team. It's a shame and if his chances are limited this season then I hope he can find a club where he'll get more games because he doesn't seem the type to want to hang around picking up his wages and not playing.

Varane is the marmite footballer at qpr. Defensively I think he’s excellent. And we need that in this side.

Yeah, that’s where I struggle. I think he’s poor defensively. Gave up for that first Hull goal and goes missing too much, in my view opinion. Let his man run off him into the box to set up the chance for that great Nardi save. Also very conservative on the ball. Madsen is the one carrying that central midfield this season.

But we can all disagree though. I simply don’t see it. Think he’s very overrated.

I thought Varane was fine tonight and did okay against Hull. He's become a bit of a target for some and admittedly his performances earlier in the season weren't great but as some have pointed out, we've won two on the trot with a midfield 2 of Madsen and Varane so they can't be doing too badly. Happy to stick with them both in those positions for now.

Proof will be in the pudding come March. Worried about Kone and what’s happened there with his fitness. Looks heavier and slower than when he joined.

I'm sorry, I don't think he's excellent defensively.
I think he's still learning that.

Look at his contribution to Hull's first goal last Saturday. He just trots back. A defensive midfielder has to hare back when the building is on fire. And we've seen that before.

I hope he learns that, but I think that instinct to save the burning building is hard to coach.
We'll see.
