This game is a toughie and then some. Boston are doing their post January surge once more, spanking playoff teams regularly of late.
This they did last season too, the 2-3 hammering of Dale was a big reality check and i’m certain MJ will remember this too and prepared for it.

Well deserved three points. Didn’t think taking Barlow off was the right move as he was involved in everything, but what do I know as it was the quality ball by Henderson that created the winner.
So many chances before then and bar the one moment we seemed to switch off for the one on one, a decent Boston team never really threatened. Calm, composed, committed to the plan.
Most ever wins in a season in the club’s history and most ever points (we’d have gained 87 points in 1923/24 if it had been 3 points for a win)

Boston was one of the better sides to visit Dale. A team with energy, quick on the counter but thankfully with no end product today. Alert, quick on the counter. And really organized in defence. Lots of pushing, pulling and grabbing on shirts. Especially Boston's Central Defender. He did a job on Mani D, giving him no space. Kept him at bay. Especially in their box on set pieces.
A really good win against this team. If we had drawn, though, it would have been disappointing, so many wasted chances on goal.
My man of the match was Perry for his first-half performance. Assured and clinical with his passing movement. I hope Rodney starts to find his touch, it seems to ping off his foot each pass to him. Smith showed the way. Although Rodney can be so dangerous and effective too, I'm unsure if I would give Smith a start instead. | | | |

That allowed the TDS to see the magnificent Ollie W pull off a wonderful 1v1 in all of its glory. His acceleration out, his positioning, his set and his left hand was textbook.
Boston as expected a tough team, but was surprised they didn’t go for it more until we scored, especially the second half.
Great ball from Hendo that led to the goal, can’t beat class when it’s getting a bit tense.
Gordon looked to be stretching towards the end, hope that was just cramp.

I thought Dan Moss had a great game today. Yes he may not be as dynamic going forward as other players in our squad but he's so solid defensively. Wins almost every header he contests and he's great in the tackle and so hard working. Brilliant header to set up Smith for the winner too. | |
