What's the opposite of rose coloured specs? I think 'terrible' is somewhat harsh and the start was promising.

Not L2 standard James

The lack of control by several players leading to the free kick was appalling

That was 40 minutes ago, James.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

First 5 minutes or so we started brightly, but we look second best in most areas of the pitch. We are at home, playing the bottom team in the league .

Its not good enough.

Biggest worry is Humphrys who looks miles away from where he has been. Second to the ball and on his heels so often.

That was a cracking decision by the ref for the free kick. Definitely outside the box.

Edit: in to on. But probably too late.

Contrary to what our commentators are saying, Shaughnessy adds almost nothing for me apart from a long throw. He looks overweight, and is as slow a player as I've seen for a good while.

his first touch is awful as well

Another truly shocking performance. If the board thinks BBM is a good manager then we are truly fcuked.

Boring negative football, at least it sent the wife to sleep

Really interesting to see the Burton tactical analysis of us in action. Lost count of the amount of times Martin Culshaw has said ‘back it goes’, often leading to either loss of possession in our own half or when they mop up our long ball forwards. Morley at left back means we can’t build any attacks, we aim to break at pace and dribble forwards (as noted in the Burton analysis).

Good opening 5 minutes, since then it’s been rubbish

A promising start

At the moment, from where I'm sat, the only "promise" on display is another scoreless outing. We must be up to about 400 minutes now? If you don't score there's a maximum of 1 point up for grabs. We've gone from feast to famine

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

Burton are 5th in the form table for last 6 games so maybe it is - thought both sides played some good football at times but misplaced passes /over dribbling (eg Newby) brought pressure back on us

It’s incredibly unfair that he’s being asked to play up there though. Why not actually play proper forwards or change the formation?

There is absolutely nothing to back the statement from the board this week regarding how talented the manager is if he continues to employ tactics like this without the correct players in certain roles. That’s not being unfair, it’s being honest as it’s so bloody basic.

He's starting to look increasingly frustrated as well. Doesn't help that with Lund and now Shaughnessy he's getting very little support and having to do a lot of the work himself.

Get Odoh on alongside him if we must persist with this formation. At least it’s a different type of player and may benefit Humphrys.

But, again, it’s not about the opposition, it’s how we are choosing to play.

Well at least we've not conceded. Started really brightly and was bossing the midfield. Then they came into the game and have had the best opportunities. We did have one really nice passage of attaching play with the chip from Rathbone to McLaughlin to Newby but came to nothing. Burton have ended up having the better chances.

Morley has managed to get Newby in a few times with a cross ball but wish Newby would occasionally try a first time cross or through ball.

TBF shaughnessy shouldn't be playing in that position, even Steve Errrrrrrrrrrrr wouldn't play Shaughnessy in this position. That just says it all about BBM really.

Baah's main contribution has been one or two decent defensive blocks. Not knocking him, that's good work, but he's miles off being worth a punt of anyone's money on this display

Probably losing confidence alongside the general lethargy within the team and the tactics

That’s what is so difficult to understand. In that short time we got the ball wide and then into the box. Something identified by the Burton stats bloke on twitter that we don’t do enough. So then we stop.

Infuriating would be the word, but have accepted it now. Which should actually be a bigger worry for the whole club: people are resigned to seeing the same things.

Stats suggest we have been the more competetive team. Unfortunately the shots on target for and against, oh dear. Brilliant save by by Bazunu when he tipped it over the bar.
