Charlie Kelman’s Leyton Orient 12:00 - Feb 8 with 96096 viewsDannyPaddox

Up against Man City in the FFS that was offside FA Cup. I prepare to stand corrected but I think Charlie is still our player but as I take as much interest in modern football players contracts and transfers as I do in mobile phone contracts I could be wrong. Either way seems like a good lad and having a decent season with a club I like so up the O’s!

Up against a central defender today in Ruben Dias who’s worth approx £75 mil … would love to see Charlie meg him.

Meanwhile tomorrow night I'm playing up front.

If you are, maybe you can get an interview with Marti at the same time......

I think the only thing less likely than them letting me speak to Cifuentes is Cifuentes managing us next season.

And more to the point, can Charlie Kelman do an interview with insight 10 minutes after the final whistle ?

Fine for a while. They're probably going to have to go up again, if not next season then the season after.

thanks for those links. Great goals both of them. If this was anybody else's asset we should be clamoring to get him.

This may have been covered (sorry) but do we have to sell kelman in January if he doesn’t sign a new contract?

From memory, he's contracted until January 2026. Not sure if the club have an option to extend for another year so it'll be interesting to see what happens in the summer.

And still there are people on here that will say he has found his level and will say he is not good enough at championship level.

And we should get rid.

Which to me with our current resources up front is the definition of insanity

Let's hope Charlie comes home and performs. It's not a given but he is seemingly improving game on game.

Yet the odd one on here rates Zan Celar as the better player

Hence why most on here have no part in professional football.

The other thing with Kelman. An injury free season.

Oh dear. Shut yer mouth Numpty !!!

That’s not great. I imagine that in the summer someone will make an approach and we’ll end up having to sell for a minimal fee (if we don’t have the option to extend)

Not sure any player would have a long term contract running out mid-season. June 2026 surely.

Fux ake surely we shouid have included an emergency recall clause in the event he’s any good and gets near twenty goals while all our first team forwards are certified dead. I mean emergency goalkeepers are permitted. England are allowed an emergency German manager.

Yes, that makes sense (though nothing would surprise me at QPR). Charlie signed a 2 year contract extension in January 2024 but in retrospect it probably runs from the expiry of his previous deal (June 2024) rather than from the time of signature. One would hope that the club has also included the usual option of an additional year if desired.

I'm sure Alfie has that in his skillset.

Just hope that Clive has too if he’s playing this evening…

It tells you everything you need to know about QPR, when one of the most significant improvement in one of our players is because they are playing for someone else all season.

No need to panic though - we’ll knock that right out of him next season.

They said they'd extended his contract. They didn't say for how long, because why should idiot scum like us be allowed to know that? It's generally accepted that it was for this season and next, but we don't know.

Oh crikey

Just stated that quite a few on here don't want Charlie here next season and think Celar is better than him and can't understand the reluctance to give the boy a chance, especially given our current attacking resources.

That is what has been said by some

How is that having a swipe at people

All I was saying i think we should definitely give Charlie a go.

Not sure how you think that's attacking others......

I just don't agree with them..

seems he is scoting goals via a decent supply line from midfield , balls down the chanels that sort of thing . that might be an issue as when was the last time we had anyone who could play that ball to a striker?
Faurlin maybe ? if we was to indeed take a chance on him what supply line will we give him ?

As I mentioned on page 5 of this thread Ethan Galbraith looks like he could fill that criteria. He seems to have good vision and can pass forward. 5 goals and 5 assists from central midfield for Leyton Orient this season. I've only watched the 2 videos I posted there so he could actually be terrible but he looks like he could step up to Championship football.

From his Wiki:

"Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough described Galbraith as the country's version of Spanish international midfielders Xavi and Andrés Iniesta. Neil Wood has described him as technically gifted, and as a player who "can pick a pass and has all the different varieties of delivery"".

Sign Darren Pratley and Dom Ball?

Only kidding, I think Jamie Donley got both assists yesterday. On loan from Spurs so might be looking to step up next year.

Might be a bit tall for us at around 6 foot?

Stating the obvious here but I've watched most of Kelman's goals this season and you can see the level of defending he's up against is definitely lower than the Championship. He usually has more time on the ball than he would get at this level and defenders make fewer mistakes in the Championship than L1.

I'm not saying we shouldn't give him a chance, but the question stands: can he make the step up?
