Why what do you know about him?
I read that he's 6 foot 6. Could be a handy option assuming he can win a few headers. Only 21. Assuming we won't be paying much. Let's see how it goes.

Spoken to some people who know more than me, he's 6'4 but still a big physical presence and a lot of pace apparently, great finisher to...and one more thing...
If Justin Obikwu is on his way here, then Frey must be defo gone.
If it's cheap, it's a good approach, and selling the Field would be amazing business too. I would be sad to see Field go, solid pro, but if there is money on the table for a medium Champ player, then we should take it in this market.

Keep Sam. Right sort. Available. Decent. Sell Varane. Offload Frey
Exactly we have put Varane in the shop window for months because he's at the age where we would get a good fee, I still think he's no better than Sam Field, so we sell the one who makes us the most money. Surely that's the logical process if we are trying to follow the Brentford/Brighton model, make the most money and I was guessing that was Nourrys thinking, we have to sell players for decent fees.
Offloading Frey is a no brainer, it's just can we get a transfer fee for him which will help with the future FFP calculations.
Coventry fans say he has already signed for us. Assume it will be announced today or tomorrow. Not sure if he’s for the Development Team or First Team.

Gab Sutton knows ball, as the kids say. So this is positive
Seems to have been an impact sub at Lincoln.
Good reports though. One for the future.
Justin Obikwu is a physical and bustling young striker who currently plays for Coventry City, having recently been recalled from a loan spell at Lincoln City in January 2026. Standing at 1.94m (approx. 6'4"), his playing style is characterized by his significant aerial presence and "poacher" instincts. Here is a breakdown of his player profile: Playing Style & Strengths * Goal Poacher: He is often described as a "bustling" forward who excels in the box. While he has historically had limited involvement in build-up play, he is highly effective at finishing chances. * Physical Presence: His height makes him a natural target man and an indirect set-piece threat. * Two-Footed: He is noted for being comfortable using both feet, which makes him unpredictable for defenders in the final third. * Counter-Attack Threat: Despite his size, he is recognized as a threat on the counter-attack and is willing to dribble when the opportunity arises. Areas for Development * Build-up Play: Scouts have noted he can sometimes have limited involvement in the earlier phases of possession. * Technical Consistency: Statistical profiles suggest areas for improvement include his passing accuracy, offside awareness, and ability to hold onto the ball under pressure. Career Context * International: He represents Trinidad and Tobago at the international level. * Experience: He has gained significant senior experience through loan spells at Grimsby Town (League Two) and Lincoln City (League One) before returning to his parent club, Coventry City.

A year younger then Alfie, pretty similar number of appearances and twice as many goals. And height - we weren't winning first ball up the pitch yesterday. We do need someone in reserve who can offer a bit more then Alfie appears to be able to, although not for want of trying.

The report also went on to say that he has good pace but needs work on his hold up play and his passing.
Watching most of his goals they come from inside the box as a type of poacher, mainly on the ground, which is quite surprising seeing as he is so tall.

Aww man...
AI at its finest.....
Well, it looks like we are signing this young fellow. WLS have announced it, so think that means, its definite, for sure.
If it works, his profile is very different to any other striker that we currently have, and that makes sense as another option in games. The age, he is, guessing a loan out or development squad to start with.

Welcome Justin...

We are short of striker options. Let him have one of the nine places on the bench. Get him a few minutes and see what he can do. Let him train and be coached by us and reassess next pre season.

I presume Justin will be taking Freys place on the bench for the rest of the season. Yes, I know he’s not been in the squad for a while but there does seem to be fairly strong interest in him so that would probably account for that. So a 21 year old replacing a 31 year old who was looking increasingly past his best. Makes sense, good luck Justin.

On paper he looks like the kind of profile we’re missing.
We can now do the channels better with Burrell, but neither he, Kone or even Frey offer the physical presence / agility combo. A kind of Patrick Agyemang type (Derby’s one, not Dave, who absolutely bullied our back 4). We’re not dropping £7m like they did, so why not roll the dice on a younger prospect and develop our own.
He’ll probably be raw AF, but if he can get up to speed that profile is always useful in the Champ.

Totally agree. He is a very useful player to have in the squad and can cover midfield, centre back and left back positions.
£1m or whatever it is QPR would receive would not be worth selling him.
I tend to agree, and have liked Field this season. I wonder if it's because (as some have mentioned) he's on decently high wages? Does make me wonder about Hayden as well but I guess he might be harder to offload...

The criticism online around the signing of this Coventry lad is laughable - People looked blankly at each other when we signed Burrell but look how that turned out
Sometimes those off the radar turn out to be the best signings
