FIFA World Cup thread. 12:02 - Nov 15 with 125452 viewsSnipper

I’m trying to get excited about this World Cup, but to no avail :-((.

I’ve just watched Sky Sports World Cup preview with Gary Neville, Jamie Redknapp, Jamie Carragher & Karen Carney. Utterly depressing viewing. Same old, same old. Picking players for the starting XI not playing for their clubs, or totally off form.

I’m hoping this thread can get the juices flowing.

Do any of you think England have a chance?

Are we sure Chair actually plays for them?

Started a game at AFCON and it went BADLY. He got hooked after 30 minutes. So not surprised to see him on bibs, balls and cones duty.

I love Ilias dearly, but is he at the level of this game?

Oh yeah, I was only joking. I don't know what he'd have to do to get on though - he's pretty crap at penalties, isn't he?

I thought he was nailed on to score in that Sunderland shoot out but it landed in my garden - and I live in Barnet.

Maybe it's better if he retires from international football.

AND WHEN I DREAM , I DREAM ABOUT YOU AND WHEN I SCREAM I SCREAM ABOUT YOU!!!!!

V v physical team this Morocco outfit as well, which again isn't a great fit.

Exactly. Chair isn't suited to the way Morocco play. I can't see him getting any pitch time if Morocco go through.

If Morrocco somehow get through, I reckon Chair has a chance in the Quarters the injuries they're getting.

Big Rapey Cristiano dropped to the bench for the evening game.
He's had a fall out with the coach apparently which personally I just cannot and will not believe.

Morocco taken to fouling their own players now. How was that not at least a yellow?

Spain must be the dullest big team the last 20 years. Even when they were amazingly good they were still boring.

Schadenfreude for knocking Germany out.

I guess one of the few teams England have beaten in a shoot-out were always going to have a worse penalties record.

That weak penalty low to the keepers right or left that basically all the missed penalties have been... why do they keep doing that? Mental.

No goals after 120 minutes and not even penalties scored, they used up their goal quota in the first game. Come to think of it, Costa Rica would probably nick one against Morocco.

Spain were crowned winners by Graeme Souness a few days ago, all gone tits up for them. I thought they were terrible today. Fair play to Morocco, they've been really good.

Slight aside, but do you think the ITV pundit team choreographed their clothes? All four of them in insipid cream...... what's that all about??

I’m sure he will have a crazy conspiracy theory to explain the loss.

Apart from the first game Spain have been bang average imo , despite the hype by some on here over their World class youngsters

Does it count as a Panenka penalty if it's about an inch above the ground?
